Scorpions look like creatures from the distant past, and that’s for a good reason. They have changed very little in the 350 to 400 million years since they first climbed from the primal seas and took their place among earth’s first terrestrial arthropods. They may not look it, but scorpions are actually arachnids, having four pairs of jointed legs. Their bodies are divided into two sections, the elliptically shaped body and the instantly recognizable tail. That tail is in fact an extension of its abdomen with a venomous stinger at the end. Scorpion use their venomous sting primarily to subdue insect prey, but they also sting defensively, readily stinging a predator or the mistakenly placed bare foot.
Of course, this plush version will forego the sting for a soft touch, even if you do mistakenly step on it.
