Roadrunners are about 22 inches long, with streaked brown and white plumage and long tail feathers. Clumsy in flight, roadrunners prefer to stay on the ground and run down their prey at speeds of up to 20 miles per hour. They feed primarily on insects, lizards, and small snakes - including rattlesnakes!
