Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument Travel Stamp

The colorful flint quarried at this site above the Canadian River was essential to the tools and weapons first used by Columbian mammoth hunters more than 13,000 years ago. The stories of Alibates flint, the quarry sites, native people and Texas cowboys are told by the rangers who lead walks through this scenic Panhandle landscape.
