In 1876 the 45/70 Copper Cartridge Case loaded with 55 grains of black powder was issued to the U.S. 7th Cavalry commanded by General George A. Custer. The troops carried the 1873 .45 Caliber Springfield Trapdoor Carbine using this unique cartridge, which in 1876 had no base stamp or other markings. Archaeologists have discovered many thousands of these on Little Bighorn Battlefield. Now you can own a safe unloaded souvenir replica of this historic event in U.S. history.
